When is the 2019 Montgomery College commencement ceremony?
The commencement ceremony takes place on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 10 a.m. on the athletic field of the Rockville Campus.

Who is eligible to participate in the commencement ceremony?
Only students who have applied for graduation and met the specific requirements for their declared major in the summer or fall of 2018 or the spring of 2019.

How do I participate in the commencement ceremony?
To participate in the ceremony, you should be a summer or fall graduate or have submitted a graduation application for spring.
You can complete the appliciation online by logging in to MyMC and selecting “Apply for Graduation” under Student Quick Link.
  Open periods for online graduation application:
Fall, June 2–October 1
Spring, October 2–February 15
Summer, February 16–June 1
A graduation packet is mailed the first week of April to the fall and summer graduates and to the potential graduates for spring. This packet will include a Participation Form. You should return the Participation Form at the Grad Finale at any campus. Grad Finale events will take place on the following dates:
Tuesday, April 16 – Germantown Campus
11 a.m.–3 p.m., Humanities and Social Sciences Building, Lower Level
Wednesday, April 17 – Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus
11 a.m.–3 p.m., Charlene R. Nunley Student Services Center, 2nd Floor Atrium
Thursday, April 18 – Rockville Campus
11:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Theatre Arts Arena
If you are unable to attend a Grad Finale, you must submit the Participation Form by May 3, 2019 to the Office of Enrollment Services at any campus.

When is the Montgomery College Commencement Guide available?
The commencement guide is now available online at the Commencement website at montgomerycollege.edu/commencement. Or you can download the guide here. We also mail the guide with Grad Finale details to all graduation-eligible students the week of April 8.

When and where can I purchase my cap and gown?
Caps and gowns go on sale during Grad Finale at your campus. Grad Finale events will take place on the following dates:
Tuesday, April 16 – Germantown Campus

Am I required to attend commencement rehearsal?
We strongly encourage you to attend the commencement rehearsal. The rehearsal is Tuesday, May 14, 10 a.m., on the Rockville Campus athletic field.

Do I need tickets for my guests?
Yes, your guests must have a ticket to attend the commencement ceremony. Once you submit your application for graduation, you will be eligible to reserve tickets beginning April 24 by registering at mcmdcommencement.com. The quantity of tickets available will depend on the number of students participating in the ceremony.

When will I receive my diploma?
You will not receive a diploma at the commencement ceremony. (You should pick up your pre-ordered diploma frame at the Alumni Association tent following the ceremony.) You will receive a letter in the mail indicating when you may pick up your diploma. The time frame is mid- to late July.
