Employee Spotlight: Antonio Vidal
Antonio Vidal, AELG Program Data Coordinator, worked with WDCE customer service staff to identify and develop an online registration form that would allow ESOL and GED students to register online, while at the same time, meeting the requirements of the AELG Grant for collection of student data and information. Antonio designed the online form, identified fields needed by MC and MC Labor, provided steps and recommendations for students to complete the form and staff to support students, and once students completed the online registration, cleaned and organized the data to generate MC registration forms. His creativity, initiative and efforts allowed the AELG program to continue to enroll, register and document student participation in ESOL and GED test preparation classes. Over 200 GED students registered the period April 20–24, and we anticipate over 800 ESOL registrations will be completed the week of May 4. —Submitted by Emma Wilson, Adult ESOL and Literacy Program Manager

Special Shift Pay for Eligible Employees
Effective May 2, 2020, the College will implement a Special Shift Pay (SSP) at a rate of $3 per hour for hours worked on campus. This is consistent with what the state and county are providing their workforce. This SSP will be paid to all regular and casual temporary employees who are unable to perform any of their work remotely and are required to physically report to campus to fulfill their primary job duties. These employees will receive SPP for the hours they are scheduled to work onsite while the College is in full-time remote operation status. With the implementation of SSP, the College will discontinue essential personnel pay (EPP).
