Required Online Training and Webinar for Employees Returning to Work On-Site

All MC employees who are returning to work on-site at one of the College's campuses or locations must complete the online training course, Safety Short: Coronaviruses and COVID-19, and the webinar, Return to Campus Webinar for Employees: COVID-19 Changes to Your Workplace. The online course and webinar are both offered in English and Spanish.
The webinar COVID-19 Changes to Your Workplace is presented by the Office of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Office of Human Resources and Strategic Talent Management (HRSTM), and ELITE to provide guidance on how to help prevent the transmission of COVID-19 at MC locations. Topics to be covered include new workplace procedures; the process of reporting cases or concerns; and additional resources and guidance for employees working on-site.

Search Advocate Certification Opportunity

Learn how to promote equity, validity and diversity at Montgomery College. These workshops will address current research about implicit bias, diversity, the changing legal landscape in hiring, inclusive employment principles, practical strategies for each stage of the search process and effective ways to be an advocate and advisor for MC search committees. Learn more about the Search Advocate Program and how to apply.
If you have previously applied to the program, it is unnecessary to apply again. Attendance at all three sessions is required.

Coping with Pandemic Anxiety As Children Return to School

As the end of summer break nears, many parents and caregivers are anxious about sending their children back to school regardless of the teaching modality. Coping With Pandemic Anxiety As Kids Return To School is here to help and will be offered twice. This workshop is designed to help people cope with emotions and anxiety in response to returning to school during the pandemic. We’ll provide an understanding of the types of reactions people may experience during this time, and offer practical tips for coping. As well as the Back to School Toolkit.
All employees and family members impacted by the coronavirus are invited to attend.

Performance Evaluations Due to HRSTM August 14

FY20 Performance Evaluations for staff, department chairs, and administrators are due to HRSTM by 5 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2020.
Tips to assist you to complete this year's performance evaluation:
  • Download the evaluation form and save it before entering data into the fillable PDF.
  • Save the document in the following format: Last Name_First Name_FY2020
  • Use a Word document to capture the information that does not fit into the text boxes. Include this document when the evaluation is submitted.
Supervisors: Please submit FY20 Performance Evaluations to Performance by 5 p.m. on Friday, August 14.

Montgomery College hosted a three-day blood drive at the Germantown Campus July 29, 30, and 31. The event was a huge success!
• 209 donors • 207 pints donated
• 42 first-time donors
• 531 potential lives saved
The American Red Cross is grateful to all of those who supported the event in every aspect of the way.
