Authentication of Direct Deposit Accounts Underway
The College has started working with PNC Bank, its financial partner, to authenticate bank accounts used for direct deposit of employee pay. As a reminder, if you have a direct deposit bank account that is not in your name, either as a sole or joint owner, and did not remove or replace the account(s) with one in your name, that account(s) will fail authentication testing and will be cancelled by the end of March. The amount allocated to the cancelled account will default to your main direct deposit account. If your main direct deposit account fails authentication testing, you will receive a paper check and will need to sign back up for direct deposit with an account in your name. You may have up to three (3) direct deposit accounts. View the full memo about account authentication and electronic direct deposit form sent to College employees. Please know

Alert: Increase in Fraudulent Unemployment Insurance Claims Filed in Maryland
There has been an increase in fraudulent unemployment insurance (UI) claims in Maryland. Per the Maryland Department of Labor/Unemployment, it is believed that information being used to file these claims was stolen from prior data breaches of companies such as Target and Equifax and is not the result of a breach of any State of Maryland information system. The Maryland Department of Labor is working diligently to separate the legitimate UI claims from those that are false. If an employee receives an email from HRSTM to their college email with the subject: PLEASE RESPOND- Unemployment Claim. We would greatly appreciate a prompt response to HRSTM at unemployment. For questions regarding this, please email unemployment or visit the Maryland Unemployment.
