Changes Take Effect for Hourly Exempt Staff

As of July 10, 2021, the first day of the current pay period and the first full pay period in FY22, changes to overtime eligibility for current hourly exempt staff and how time is reported on electronic timesheets took effect. Employees considered hourly exempt are no longer eligible for overtime. These changes are important as we move toward updating and enhancing our overall compensation strategy. View the full memo that includes the difference between non-exempt and exempt employees, timeline for time tracking process changes for salaried exempt staff, and new guidelines for managing salaried staff.

Administrators Begin to Return to Onsite Work

As we embark upon our gradual return to onsite teaching, learning, and working, we asked our administrators how they were feeling about working onsite again.
Photo of Dave Sears
“It feels good to be working back onsite in the CT building. I am looking forward to having conversations again in person with colleagues and students. I most look forward to helping mentor and guide employees and students who seek my advice on a host of topics. There is something more meaningful and personal to help someone in person than trying to mentor them over Zoom or the phone.
After working remotely so long, I have developed new technological skills such as Zoom, Webex and Teams. More importantly, I think I have developed better skills in being mindful of different life changes and issues affecting the staff. I am hoping the skills tied to mindfulness will make me a better leader in how we approach the work, especially as people grapple with life issues.”
