Join MC President Jermaine F. Williams at the Spring Closing Meeting, Wednesday, May 18 at 9 a.m. in Globe Hall, HT, on the Germantown Campus. The meeting will be in-person and available via livestream from the Closing Meeting website. The College is open at its normal time, but student and business services are temporarily suspended until 2 p.m. to allow everyone to attend the opening meeting. The Office of E-Learning, Innovation, and Teaching Excellence (ELITE) team continues to provide instructional professional development to the College community. Important Updates to EAP/PDAP Processing and Deadlines for FY22 and FY23
The following are changes regarding processing and deadlines related to Workday for the Educational Assistance Program (EAP), EAP Travel, and Professional Development Assistance Program (PDAP for part-time faculty) for employees for FY22 and FY23.
- EAP prepay requisitions and receipts for FY22 are to be approved by managers and the Office of Human Resources and Strategic Talent Management (HRSTM) by Friday, June 10, 2022.
- EAP reimbursements for spend authorizations and reports must be approved by managers and HRSTM by Friday, June 17, 2022.
There will be no exceptions to these deadlines, unless you are attending and traveling (if applicable) to an approved EAP program between June 18 and June 30, 2022. For this period of time, the requests must be submitted by July 8 or the money is forfeited. Additionally, the option to submit future EAP requests for the subsequent fiscal year is no longer available in Workday until July 1 of each year.

HRSTM and ComPsych to Host Four Employee Assistance Webinars
The College recognizes that changes in the workplace can happen quickly, leaving managers and employees feeling vulnerable and anxious. The Office of Human Resources and Strategic Talent Management (HRSTM) and ComPsych are pleased to announce four employee assistance webinars available to all Montgomery College employees. The 45-60-minute-long webinars are designed by trained psychologists and adult learning experts to ensure a high-quality experience. These engaging and informative sessions will be conducted as live, interactive webinars beginning Thursday, May 26, and continuing through Thursday, June 2.

Dr. Michael Mills and Dr. Shinta Hernandez Co-Author Article
Dr. Michael Mills, vice president of the Office of E-Learning, Innovation, and Teaching Excellence (ELITE) and the virtual campus, and Dr. Shinta Hernandez, dean of the virtual campus, co-authored an article outlining the role open pedagogy plays in the principles of good teaching. Volunteers Still Needed for Commencement
Planning is well underway for Montgomery College’s 75th Anniversary Commencement but we still need your help with our students, faculty, guests, or other logistics to make this a successful event. This year’s commencement, the first in‑person ceremony since 2019, takes place at the Rockville Campus at 10 a.m. on two days—Thursday and Friday, May 19 and 20.
College services will be suspended both days until 2 p.m. to enable participation across all areas and all campuses of the College. Select your special assignment.

HRSTM Provides Support for Workday Business Processes
Once you join the Zoom meeting, you will be placed in a waiting room and receive personal assistance on a first-come, first-served basis. Please have your prepay requisition and/or reimbursement documents (i.e., invoices, receipts) saved and ready for review and to be uploaded into Workday. As a reminder, all EAP Travel is reimbursement only and therefore not eligible for prepay. Please refer to the Workday Training website for more information and the new EAP resources that have been added.

Workday Reminders, Tips, and Guidance
Since the opening of Workday on January 3, 2022, MC Learns through Workday is available again for FY22 required trainings and other professional development offerings. All MC employees can now enter time off, and hourly employees can enter time worked. Payroll and Finance are now fully live. Visit Workday Training for job aids, training videos, and other resources.
