Congratulations to the Administrator Leadership Award Recipients
Congratulations to honorees, Dr. Elena Saenz, Ms. Donna Pina, and Dr. Richard Cerkovnik, on receiving a 2022 Administrator Leadership Award. Montgomery College president, Dr. Jermaine F. Williams, presented the awards during the Administrators Leadership Conference last week. Read more about the awards and honorees below.

Dr. Saenz's imagination and leadership brought her teams together to minimize the impact of the pandemic on the Dual Enrollment, Early College, and Achieving the Promise Academy (ATPA) students.

Summer Pause on SRAs, Teachers’ Pension, and 10-Month Employee Deductions
As you may be aware, deductions for Supplemental Retirement Annuities (SRAs), Teachers’ Pension System, and 10-month employees are based on 20 pays and therefore are stopped over the summer. Pay received between June 17 and August 26 will not include the SRAs deduction. Employees who are enrolled in the Employees’ Pension System and 12-month employees have deductions taken all year long (26 pays). Full-time faculty who are enrolled in the Deferred Pay program have their pay spread out over 26 pays but remain on 20 pays for insurance deductions. View the FY23 pay periods and pay dates schedule. If you have any questions, please contact the HRSTM Benefits Team.

As we approach the end of the fiscal year, be sure to review the following changes regarding processing and deadlines related to Workday for the Educational Assistance Program (EAP), EAP Travel, and Professional Development Assistance Program (PDAP for part-time faculty) for employees for FY22 and FY23.
Deadline: Friday, June 10, 2022
EAP prepay requisitions and receipts for FY22 are to be approved by managers and the Office of Human Resources and Strategic Talent Management (HRSTM).
Deadline: Friday, June 17, 2022
EAP reimbursements for spend authorizations and reports must be approved by managers and HRSTM.
There will be no exceptions to these deadlines, unless you are attending and traveling (if applicable) to an approved EAP program between June 18 and June 30, 2022. For this period of time, requests must be submitted by July 8 or the money is forfeited. Additionally, the option to submit future EAP requests for the subsequent fiscal year is no longer available in Workday until July 1 of each year.
Please refer to the Workday Training website for more information and the new EAP resources that have been added recently. EAP/PDAP questions should be directed the EAP email.

Employee Matters Marks 100 Issues
The June 8, 2022 issue of Employee Matters marks the 100th issue of the newsletter. The Office of Human Resources and Strategic Talent Management (HRSTM) launched Employee Matters on April 15, 2020, during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic as a communication vehicle to better connect with employees after Montgomery College had entered remote work status. We hope that the newsletter served to provide timely information and resources to support and connect College employees on navigating the ever-changing conditions of the pandemic during these last two years.
Montgomery College has thrived and prevailed during unimaginable conditions due to the COVID-19 pandemic—a testament to the agility and resilience of MC employees. See the first issue of Employee Matters and just how far we've come.
