FY23 Performance Goals and Professional Development Goals
What You Need to Know
Performance goal setting benefits not only the employee but the organization as a whole. There are two types of goals: performance goals and professional development goals. How do they differ?
Performance Goals
Performance goals, sometimes called SMART goals, which stands for (Specific-Measurable-Achievable-Relevant-Timely) focus on the measurable accomplishments of an individual or an entire work unit. Well-developed performance goals help to motivate employees, prioritize work, and promote positive employee relations.
Professional Development Goals
Professional development goals are objectives set to help further an individual’s career. Setting professional development goals can have many benefits. They can help you stay up to date on industry trends, increase engagement and job satisfaction, and align you with what you want out of your career and life.
Both types of goals can be set and tracked in Workday. Use the resources below to learn how to craft successful goals and manage them in Workday.
