By Liz Feldman on behalf of the Part-Time Faculty Institute

“To learn a language is to have one more window from which to look at the world.”
—Chinese proverb

Aixiu (Monica) Zhang has provided that window for countless students over her 16-year-career as a part-time faculty member at Montgomery College.

She teaches in the World Languages and Philosophy Department on the Rockville Campus. When she first came to the College in 2006, she taught classes in reading on the Germantown Campus but soon after switched to Rockville. She has taught all levels of Chinese at Montgomery College.

Zhang’s journey to Montgomery College began decades ago. She was born in China and received her undergraduate degree in English Language and Literature from Nankai University in Tianjin, China.
She moved to the United States in 1993 to pursue a Master of Education degree. Read more.
