Reminder: Self-Disclosure Requests Sent to Workday Inbox Expire September 30
In May 2022, employees received two self-disclosure requests in their Workday inbox—one to self-identify as a veteran, and the other to self-identify as an individual with a disability. Identifying as a veteran or as an individual with a disability is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer will be maintained confidentially and will not be seen by selecting officials or anyone else involved in making personnel decisions. Self-disclosing this information will not negatively impact you in any way.
If you do not take action to disclose, these requests will expire after September 30. Because either status may change at any time, we ask all our employees to update their information as soon as anything changes. Should you have any questions or concerns pertaining to individuals with disabilities please contact Rowena D’Souza. Questions regarding veterans should be directed to the HRSTM Help Desk.

Reminder: Submit Flexible Work Arrangement Forms for New Fiscal Year 2023
Telework/Flexible Work Arrangement forms must be submitted each fiscal year. All employees who telework or have a flexible work arrangement must have a current agreement and/or application on file. Employees should only submit fully approved Flexible Work Arrangements for FY23 (i.e., signed by the employee and applicable supervisors). As outlined in the Flexible Work Arrangements Procedure, approval of all telework agreements must be based on the operational and service needs of a unit and the essential job duties of a position. Factors for supervisors to consider in determining eligibility can be found on the Flexible Work Arrangements webpage in the Telework/Telecommute section. Please follow these steps for submitting requests for telework/flexible work arrangements:

Employee Connections Groups
About the Program The Office of Human Resources and Strategic Talent Management (HRSTM) established the Employee Connections Group program to facilitate opportunities for employees to come together to enrich personal experiences and build community. It also provides leadership opportunities for those who wish to participate, initiate, or lead a group. Groups get together via Zoom meetings. Come meet and interact with employees from across the College.
Employees with Disabilities TThe purpose of this group is to provide a place for employees with disabilities—and those who know someone with a disability—to meet and support one another. Anyone with a disability of any kind is welcome to attend virtual meetings. Some topics to discuss include finding solutions to disability-related challenges at work, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and improvements to make MC more equitable and inclusive for people with disabilities. The group’s founder and facilitator is Dr. Colleen Ackermann, professor of mathematics on the Rockville Campus. Please contact Colleen directly to join this group.
Questions About the Program? Have questions or suggestions for new groups? Please contact Elaine Doong.
