Benefits: Open Enrollment Ends November 18
The Human Resources and Strategic Talent and Management (HRSTM) Benefits Team would like to remind all benefits-eligible employees that Open Enrollment will end on November 18, at 5 p.m.
All employees are required to log into Workday to review and submit their 2023 benefit elections, even if they are not making any changes.
The HRSTM Benefits Team would like to continue to encourage you to explore the Open Enrollment website, which is full of resources and information to help you navigate the upcoming 2023 benefit changes.
The virtual benefits advisor, Alex, can explain, recommend, and provide a side-by-side comparison of the College's health plans.
If you were unable to attend an onsite fair, the HRSTM Benefits Team will continue to conduct virtual sessions to answer your questions until November 18. Schedule your 10-minute appointment through Sign-Up Genius today.
Important Notice: Adjusting AWS for Holidays
For employees with an alternative work schedule (AWS), which entails working a full week in less than five (5) days and/or a combination of different hours each workday to get to a 40-hour workweek, it is advised to adjust the work schedule to regular 8-hour days for weeks with holidays to ensure no issues with receiving a regular weeks’ pay.
Supervisors can make a short-term adjustment to the work schedule by using a start date and an end date. View the Manage Team’s Time and Time Off job aid and see Assign Work Schedule.

Hourly employees must report all hours worked and any time off used (if applicable) through November 25, and any corrections to previous pay periods. Contact the Payroll Services Team if you have any questions.
Employee Data Dashboard for November 2022

The dashboard has been updated as of November 10, 2022.
The updates contain broad information, such as the total number of employees broken down by employee type and demographic category. We believe this dashboard will assist you in answering queries, planning, and recognizing personnel trends at MC.

Employee Accessibility Survey: Please Respond by December 2
The Employee Accessibility Survey has launched. All Montgomery College employees are asked to complete the survey by Friday, December 2.
On November 9, all employees received an email with a link to the Employee Accessibility Survey with a unique password, which will take about 10 minutes to complete. A third-party research partner will administer the survey and assure anonymity. Results will be shared with the College.
Your participation in the survey will help assess and measure the progress toward the full inclusion of persons with disabilities at Montgomery College, as well as foster a culture where disability is recognized and celebrated as part of MC's diversity.
Professional Development Leave
Montgomery College department chairs, administrators, and benefits-eligible staff are eligible for a period of paid leave to engage in professional development, research or scholarly activities, or study for the completion of a degree, certificate, or other professional credential.
Does this sound like something that may interest you? Then come join the HRSTM Employee Development and Engagement team on Friday, December 9 at 2 p.m. to learn how the College's Professional Development Leave program can help you achieve your professional learning and career goals.
STMOD Team on Rockville Campus
On Tuesday, November 8, 2022, the 12 members of the HRSTM Strategic Talent Management and Organizational Development (STMOD) team spent the day on the Rockville Campus.
The team led by Director Lauren Landau, includes talent aquisition and employment, classification and compensation, organizational development, and HR outreach. The full-day retreat focused on cross-training and customer service. Opportunities to improve the intersectionality of the work and address barriers to accurate and timely customer service were identified and flushed out.
It was invigorating to be on campus with students, and Fred the T-Rex was a highlight of their campus tour.
Updated EEOC Workplace Posters
