This Week: National Influenza Vaccination Awareness National Influenza Vaccination Week is an annual observance in December to remind everyone six months and older that there’s still time to get vaccinated against influenza, more commonly known as the flu. Vaccination is particularly important for people who are at higher risk of developing serious flu complications, including people with certain chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and heart disease. In fact, in past flu seasons, 9 out of 10 adults hospitalized for flu had at least one underlying medical condition.
As noted in the November 16 memo from Public Health and Environmental Safety, let’s all be vigilant this flu (and Covid-19 and RSV) season to make sure we continue to slow the spread of illnesses.
If you are not feeling well, please do not come into the office. This video from Centers for Disease Control (CDC) shares the common signs and symptoms of flu and reminds employees to stay home from work when they are sick. Please look out for additional information from Public Health and Environmental Safety with reminders about how to reduce the spread of viruses heading into the colder months.

Reminder: Time Off Guidance for College Closure on Monday, November 28Timesheets for hourly employees are due on Saturday, December 10 by noon for regular hours worked and time off hours used from November 26 through December 9, 2022.
Due to the College closure and operating status of Code Red on Monday, November 28, all regular staff, department chairs, and administrators should enter a request for Operational Status Change Time Off (OSCTO) in Workday. Faculty are not required to do anything. Casual temps and student workers do not work when the College is closed and do not enter time.
If you already requested another type of time off on Monday, then you should correct your time off request to reflect OSTCO. If you were not scheduled to work on Monday, then no action is required.
Though the College was closed and there was no requirement for non-essential employees to work, any non-essential employees that did telework for any portion of the day should report their regular hours and OSCTO for any difference. Essential personnel required to work onsite during a Code Orange or Code Red status are eligible for essential pay.
