Employee Spotlight: Meet Dr. Daniel Dalgo
In February 2020, Dr. Daniel Dalgo began his career at the College in the Office of Facilities (Central Administration) as an energy engineer. In November 2021, he was promoted to energy conservation manager. Prior to joining MC, Daniel worked at the University of Maryland, where he received his PhD in mechanical engineering with a focus on building energy systems.
As the energy conservation manager, he develops and implements strategies to help the College meet its energy efficiency and sustainability goals. His position allows him to participate in construction projects and ensure that they adhere to the College's energy efficiency standards and guidelines.
Daniel also teaches "Introduction to Engineering Design" at MC part-time and appreciates the diversity at the College. His department is a team-oriented environment where information sharing is welcomed and encouraged.
In his spare time, Daniel enjoys drinking coffee and spending time outside in nature with his daughter and dog.

Maryland State Pension Seminar/WebinarIf you are a member of the Maryland State Pension Plan and are within eight (8) years of retiring, you are invited to attend an onsite seminar or webinar that is administered by the School of Continuing Education at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC). Both formats will cover the same topics. Speakers from the State Retirement and Pension System, Social Security, and other retirement-related organizations will be present at the events.

Award Nominations The nomination process is underway to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of our full-time faculty, part-time faculty, full-time staff, and part-time staff.
Outstanding Full-Time and Part-Time Faculty These awards recognize individual full-time and part-time faculty members who exemplify excellence in areas such as teaching, counseling and academic advising, scholarly or professional accomplishments, and service to the College and/or community. For the current year, each faculty member recognized with an Outstanding Faculty Award will receive a one-time payment of $2,000. Learn more and nominate a faculty member.
Outstanding Staff (Full-Time and Part-Time) These awards recognize individual full-time and part-time staff who exemplify excellence in areas such as customer service, innovation, serving students, and performance. For the current year, each staff member recognized with an Outstanding Staff Award will receive a one-time payment of $2,000. Learn more and nominate a staff member.
Employee of the Year Awards Each year, the outstanding award committees identify an exemplary full-time faculty, part-time faculty, and staff member nominee and recommends them for an employee of the year award. The recipients receiving one of the three (3) awards, Full-Time Faculty of the Year, Part‑Time Faculty of the Year, and Staff of the Year, will each receive a one-time payment of $5,000.
The deadline for nominations is March 1 at 11:59 p.m.

Montgomery College Rising Professionals Association (MCRPA) Seeks Campus ResourcesIf you are an active Montgomery College Rising Professionals (MCRPA) member, the Membership, Marketing and Communications Committee (MMC) is actively recruiting members to serve as a campus resource on each of our campuses and off-site locations.
Campus resources will assist with welcoming our new members to the College on their home campus. The campus resources will act as the “first face” and be an extension to the welcome email that new members receive when they join the association. This could also include participating in our semester networking lunches and open houses.
