Are You Ready for Tax Season? The W-2 tax forms for 2022 are available in Workday. For those who did not opt for the electronic version only, a paper copy of the updated version was sent via U.S. mail on Tuesday, January 31, 2022. If you are using a tax preparing service that pulls in W-2 data from your employer’s Tax Identification Number, make sure the data in boxes 12–14 is populating and add it in if it does not. For details and a description of your W-2 tax form, and instructions on accessing and downloading your W-2 from Workday, please see the Collegewide memo in English or Spanish. If you have questions about your W-2, please contact the Payroll Team.
Additionally, the College’s third-party vendor for Affordable Care Act (ACA) data processing and Form 1095-C fulfillment has processed and mailed forms for employees that did not elect electronic delivery only on Monday, February 27, 2022, and your 1095-C is now available in Workday. From your menu, go to the Benefits app. Under View, click on My ACA Forms. You may not need your Form 1095-C to file your taxes, but should keep it with your tax records. If you have questions about your 1095-C, please contact the Benefits Team.

Employee Spotlight: Meet Annie Welsh!Prior to joining MC, Annie worked in public schools, private colleges, and federal agencies as a teacher, curriculum developer, and trainer. When she saw the opening for the Adult ESOL and Literacy Grant Program (AELG) Instructional Specialist position, she reflected on her 15-year career and realized she never worked for a community college. “What better way to give back directly to the community than to work for a community college?” In spite of the three to four hour commute, she had no regrets about joining MC.
Annie enjoys onboarding new instructors to the AELG Program, helping instructors “get unstuck” when using instructional materials or tools, being the go-to person for instruction and training issues, and learning about students' achievements and how much they enjoy our classes.
By encouraging AELG faculty to facilitate and participate in learning community groups, Annie has transformed professional development into professional learning. This type of professional learning and growth has inspired some of our faculty to present at local and state conferences.
In her free time, Annie enjoys crocheting and hiking. She is always amazed at how yarn can be transformed into beautiful art. Annie feels accomplished and satisfied after finisheing a crochet project, including untangling yarn. Like work, crochet requires creativity, determination, success, and failure. When she learned to crochet, she discovered a few thousand people in a Ravelry group untangle yarn. “How cool is this? Sometimes extra hands help get the job done.”
