Employee Spotlight: Meet Fetwi GubsaFetwi Gubsa’s journey to Montgomery College began when he moved to the United States and found the AELG program on the College's website. Recognizing the similarity to his previous work experience, Fetwi applied and became a part-time ESL instructor in 2015.
Over the years, Fetwi has taken on various roles and found fulfillment in seeing his students succeed, such as earning their GEDs and working towards their associate degrees. In 2020, he led a successful syllabus review that tailored the GED program to better meet the learners needs. When it comes to difficult conversations, Fetwi remains calm and focuses on the positive aspects of his observations.
Outside of work, Fetwi enjoys watching soccer games, expanding his knowledge through online research, and spending time with his family. Through his dedication to his students and willingness to overcome challenges, Fetwi has become a valuable member of the Montgomery College community.

Tips for a Better Work-Life Balance
Are you constantly struggling to balance your work and personal life? Do you often feel like you're being pulled in opposite directions with no time to unwind? We get it. Life can be hectic, and finding the right balance can seem like an impossible feat. But what if we told you there's a way to simplify things?
It all starts with prioritizing what matters in your life. Instead of trying to juggle everything at once, take a step back and decide what's truly important to you. Is it spending time with your family? Advancing in your career? Pursuing a hobby or passion? Once you've defined your priorities, you can give them the appropriate time and attention.
However, how do you actually make time for the important things? Unnecessary activities can be eliminated. We all have extracurricular obligations that we do not truly enjoy but feel compelled to fulfill. Concentrate on what brings you true happiness and satisfaction. Finding a way to manage multiple responsibilities can lead to a happier and more productive life, which will result in work-life balance.
