Maximizing EAP Benefits: Deadlines and Utilization Updates
To make the most of this valuable benefit, eligible employees are reminded to prioritize their education and professional development. Remember, EAP requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, within the determined FY limits based on employee group.
Please make note of the following important deadlines for FY23 EAP requests:
- Prepay requisitions and receipts: Ensure approval from managers and HRSTM by Friday, June 9.
- Spend authorizations and expense reports: Obtain approval from managers and HRSTM no later than Friday, June 16.
There will be no exceptions to these deadlines unless you are attending and traveling (if applicable) to an approved EAP program between June 19 and June 30, 2023. If this applies to you, then your EAP reimbursements via spend authorizations and expense reports can be approved by managers and HRSTM up to Wednesday, July 12, 2023. If you miss the July 12 deadline, you will forfeit your eligibility for reimbursement for approved FY23 EAP events and applicable travel events.

Employee Data Dashboard for June 2023
The HRSTM Employee Data Dashboard provides monthly data about Montgomery College employees to encourage employees to access on-demand information and resources.
Some of the HRSTM staff will be out on Professional Development Leave during June, which will impact regularly scheduled updates of the data dashboard. As a result, the data dashboard will be updated on June 20, 2023.
The updates contain broad information, such as the total number of employees broken down by employee type and demographic category. We believe this dashboard will assist employees with answering queries, planning, and recognizing personnel trends at MC.

Reminder: Complete Your Ethics Self-Reflection Questionnaire (ESQ) by June 30, 2023
FY23 Required Training includes completion of the Ethics Self-Reflection Questionnaire (ESQ). The ESQ is a short, web-based questionnaire intended to prompt self-reflection and further integrate the College’s ethical expectations into Montgomery College’s culture. This questionnaire presents examples of workplace conduct and asks the participant to rate the extent to which their own behavior accords with each example.
Important things to note for the Ethics Self-Reflection Questionnaire (ESQ):
- The Ethics Self-Reflection Questionnaire will not store responses or save data in any College system so that employees may evaluate themselves candidly
- The exercise is estimated to take about 10–12 minutes to complete.
- After completing the questionnaire, employees will need to create a certificate of completion bearing their name as proof of participation to share with their supervisor.
- Employees will have to complete the questionnaire again if they did not generate and save the certificate.

June Is National Smile Month: Focusing on Oral HealthPreventing tooth and periodontal diseases with preventative dental care can help you maintain a healthy smile.
- Brush and floss your teeth every day.
- If you chew gum, use only sugarless gum.
- Avoid tobacco products.
- Incorporate more vegetables and fewer sugary and carbonated drinks into your diet.
- Schedule regular dental cleanings every six months (or more frequently as your dentist advises).

When you receive preventive dental care (i.e., schedule a yearly cleaning and check-up), your annual dollar maximum increases for the next plan year, assuming you stay enrolled with Cigna. Emergency Evacuation Accommodation It is important for all employees to have an emergency evacuation plan in place in the event of an emergency. Those who may need assistance during an evacuation due to a disability should consider identifying themselves to employers and building managers to aid in the planning process.
