Celebrate Native American Heritage Month with MC LibraryNovember is Native American Heritage Month, and the MC Library is excited to celebrate! Stop by any of our campus library locations to view our beautiful Native American Heritage Month displays and borrow books, films, and more related to Native American history, identity, and culture. Or, check out our online Native American Heritage Guide. The guide includes information about local native communities and landmarks, as well as recommendations for books and e-books, streaming films, research resources, and local organizations related to Native American rights, history, and contemporary thought.
We encourage you to use the Native American Heritage Guide for your own personal growth, as well as share the guide with your students who may benefit from learning more about this important heritage month.

Racial Healing Circles Being Offered by the MC Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation Campus CenterThe College’s Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation (TRHT) Campus Center has added an additional Racial Healing Circle for the month of November. To learn more and register, please visit the TRHT Campus Center webpage.
Racial Healing Circle, Monday, November 20, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Germantown Campus, BE 160, facilitated by Ken Nelson and Stacey Gustavson.
What to expect from a Racial Healing Circle: A group of 10–20 diverse individuals from the College will meet for one and a half to two hours to go through a series of activities that help us get to know each other better. The idea is that if we know each other better as individuals, we can break down the hierarchy of who is important and who is not (the hierarchy of human value). By knowing each other better, we are better positioned to tackle the important policies, practices, and narratives that are barriers to fulfilling the mission of the College.
About the MC TRHT Campus Center: Montgomery College is one of more than 70 higher education institutions across the country with a Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation (TRHT) Campus Center, which is an initiative of the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U). MC’s TRHT Campus Center aims to provide community healing activities that promote narrative change in order to dismantle the belief in a hierarchy of human values and to prepare the next generation of leaders to advocate for racial and social justice. MC’s TRHT Campus Center was launched in 2021 with generous support from AAC&U and the Meyer Foundation.

The holiday season brings many expectations. Often, this makes us feel like we are being pulled in a hundred different directions. There are office parties to attend, family get-togethers to schedule, children’s holiday recitals, and gifts to buy. The holidays can be one of the happiest times of the year, yet they can also be one of the most stressful. Maintaining balance and keeping stress from overwhelming you are the keys to an enjoyable holiday season. This workshop provides an overview of common stressors people encounter during the holidays and offers “stress buster” tips to help you get the most possible enjoyment out of the season.
