Reminder: Period Activity Pay Deadlines for Winter 2023–24 and Spring 2024
As a reminder, Period Activity Pay (PAP) is how all part-time faculty (PTF) are paid in Workday and must be entered by Administrative Aides (AAs) based on the timelines set by the Office of Human Resources and Strategic Talent Management (HRSTM) to ensure timely payment. Please note the following PAP dates for the upcoming winter session and spring semester.
Winter Pay for Instructional Part-Time Faculty
Any instructional PTF classes over the annual 2023–24 winter session, which begins on December 18, 2023, and ends January 19, 2024, will be paid over two (2) pay dates. The pay dates for the winter session will be January 12, 2024, and January 26, 2024. AAs were contacted directly with specific details. Spring Pay for Non-Instructional Part-Time Faculty (Counselors)
Any non-instructional PTF (counselors) working before the spring semester classes begin on January 22, 2024, will be paid over 11 pay dates. The first pay date for the spring semester for PTF counselors only will be January 12, 2024, and the 11th and final pay will be on May 31, 2024. AAs were contacted directly with specific details. The end of the calendar year is approaching, so we wanted to remind full-time staff and administrators about the College’s annual and personal time off carryover limits and deadlines. The deadline for annual and personal leave for 2023 is Friday, December 22.

HRSTM’s Employee Data Dashboard provides monthly data about Montgomery College employees to encourage employees to access on-demand information and resources.
The dashboard has been updated as of December 13, 2023.
The updates include broad information, such as the total number of employees broken down by employee type and demographic category. We believe this dashboard will aid you in answering questions, planning, and identifying personnel trends at MC.

Self-Care Winter Wellness Bingo ChallengeWe invite you to participate in the MC Wellness Employee Wellness Bingo challenge during the winter break vacation. Print the MC Wellness Bingo card, complete the square challenges, and write the date of completion on each square. Complete a minimum of one row or one column (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal) and send your card to Megan Cooperman by January 8, 2024, to enter a raffle for prizes, including $50 gift cards.
- If you complete one (1) row, column, or diagonal, you will get one (1) entry.

Student Worker Extension and Termination
This is a courtesy reminder to plan for your student workers’ extensions and terminations for the next semester. Managers and supervisors are responsible for extending and terminating student worker assignments in Workday. Before you extend or terminate Federal Work Study (FWS) students, please contact Derek Thompson or Santiago Bonilla for FWS eligibility.

- To Extend Employment (job aid): The request to extend a student worker will be sent to the registrar to confirm enrollment. Please ensure that the student worker is registered for six (6) credits for the next semester (12 if an international student). Enter 5/24/2024 as the end date for the extension.
- To Terminate Employment (job aid): Please note that if a manager does not act to extend the end date of a student worker prior to the assignment end date, the student worker’s employment will automatically terminate on the end date.

The MC Wellness program offers online classes and in-person classes daily for aqua fitness, cardio and strength circuits, desk stretching, pickleball, Pilates, Tai Ji, yoga, and Zumba.
All classes are complimentary for Montgomery College employees, their spouses, and retirees.
MC employees and retirees are required to register before they can participate in the FY24 wellness program.
