Classification and Compensation: Supervisors Review Job Profiles by February 7

The next phase of the classification and compensation study focuses on ensuring job profiles are accurate and current. Supervisors of employees in budgeted staff and administrator positions should review the job profiles of their direct reports. Please submit any suggested changes via Workday using the “Create Request—Job Profile Update” to the HRSTM classification and compensation team.
To submit feedback, supervisors must have attended one of the overview sessions or viewed the recording in Workday. Suggestions are due to HRSTM by the close of business Wednesday, February 7.
Visit the FY24 Classification and Compensation Practices Study page for additional information.

Period Activity Pay Reminders for Spring 2024

As a reminder, Period Activity Pay (PAP) is how all part-time faculty (PTF) are paid in Workday and must be entered by administrative aides (AAs) based on the timelines set by HRSTM to ensure timely payment. Please note the following PAP dates for the spring semester.
Spring Pay for Part-Time Faculty
The number of payments will vary based on when the classes occur (i.e., the specific part of the term). The majority of spring classes are in Part 1 of Term 1, which will be paid over nine (9) pay dates.
The first pay date for the spring semester for PTF working Part of Term 1 will be February 9, and the ninth and final pay will be on May 31. AAs were contacted directly with specific details.
View the full spring PAP memo for AAs supporting part-time faculty. Please see page 2 of the memo for pay details for classes in other parts of the term.

Finding HR Answers: Exploring Your Options

Do you have general questions for the Human Resources and Strategic Talent Management (HRSTM) Team?
Getting answers is as easy as 1, 2, 3!
1) Look online. The HRSTM website is full of up-to-date information on benefits, careers, talent acquisition, payroll, performance management, and training. Please check out the resources available on the HRSTM website, the Workday Training Page, and/or Workday.
2) Contact the HRSTM Help Desk. Daily operational inquiries for all HR functional areas should be addressed to the HR Help Desk. The HR Help Desk can be reached by phone number at 240-567-5353 or email at hrstm@montgomerycollege.edu.
3) Reach out to your HRIC. Your on-campus Human Resources Internal Consultants, or HRICs, are available in person, by phone, or by email. They are well-versed in updated HRSTM policies, practices, and procedures. As specialists in employment laws, college policies, and our collective bargaining agreements, they communicate essential information to all employees.

Building an Inclusive Campus Culture

Montgomery College is on a “Journey Toward Becoming an Antiracist Institution,” which is focused on promoting social justice, radical inclusion, and racial equity within the College and the broader community. This spring, all administrators, department chairs, supervisors, full-time faculty, and staff are required to complete this training, which is strongly recommended for all other interested employees at the College. Please note that this training requirement’s deadline has been extended to 2023–2024. It is not necessary to retake this training if you have already completed it.
With conscious contributions from each community member, we can cultivate a culture where students of all backgrounds feel a profound sense of belonging. This required training is one way we are working collectively toward this vision.
Register now and be a part of building a more just, equitable, and inclusive campus for all. Please send any inquiries about this training to Antonio Montano.
