MC Center for Early Education Lab School Hosts Annual Blooming Artist Gallery Show on May 3The Montgomery College Center for Early Education (CEE) Lab School will host their annual 2024 Blooming Artist Gallery Show on Friday, May 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. The show will be held indoors and outdoors on the children’s playground. Montgomery College employees and students are invited to attend. The show will feature children’s artful expressions of the works of Frida Kahlo, Torkwase Dyson, Piet Mondrian, Claude Monet, and more.
Come and discover the inspired work of our young artists. The wonderful educators of the CEE Lab School have created amazing documentation panels for you to review and reflect upon the children’s artistic journeys. Small goodie bags will be provided, and a message board will be available for guests to write little notes of inspiration for the young aspiring artists. We hope to see you there!

FY24 Performance Evaluation Process Is Coming SoonIt’s time to start planning for the 2024 performance evaluation process.
As in past years, evaluations will be launched in Workday and will start with the self-evaluation. Your input and self-reflection are crucial elements in this process. This is a valuable opportunity to reflect on professional achievements, areas for growth, and contributions to your department and your team.
For more information on performance management, the evaluation process, and how best to prepare for your self-evaluation, block time on your calendar and consider attending one (1) of the following sessions:
Self-Evaluation
- May 30, 10–11 a.m.
- June 10, 11 a.m.–noon
- June 26, 10–11 a.m.
Manager Evaluation
- July 16, 11 a.m.–noon

May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and Jewish American Heritage Month. MC Library is excited to celebrate! Stop by any of our campus library locations to view our beautiful displays and borrow books, films, and more related to Asian Pacific American and Jewish American heritage. You can also check out our online Asian Pacific American Heritage and Jewish American Heritage guides. The guides include recommendations for books and e-books, streaming films, research resources, and local organizations related to Asian Pacific American and Jewish American history, culture, and thought.
We encourage you to use the guides for your own personal growth and share them with your students, colleagues, friends, family, or other community members, who may benefit from learning more about these important heritage months.

Updated FY25 Pay Schedule Now Available
The pay dates for Summer Session I are June 14, June 28, and July 12. The pay dates for Summer Session II are July 26, August 9, and August 23.
Also note that the early timesheet deadline for the June 2 pay date, which is the final pay date of Academic Year 2023-2024, has been adjusted to Friday, May 24, due to the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 27.

Planning Ahead for Student Worker Extensions and Separations
As we near the end of the spring semester, it’s time for managers and supervisors to plan for their student workers’ extensions and separations for the summer and fall semesters in Workday.
For Federal Work Study (FWS) students, please wait for a continuation notice from Financial Aid before making any changes.
To Extend Employment: Ensure that student workers are registered for six (6) credits for the fall semester (12 if an international student). Extend their employment until December 20, 2024.
To Separate Employment: Remember, if you don’t extend the student worker’s employment before the assignment end date, their employment will automatically separate on the end date.

Emergency Evacuation Accommodation It is important for all employees to have an emergency evacuation plan in place in the event of an emergency. Those who may need assistance during an evacuation due to a disability should consider identifying themselves to employers and building managers to aid in the planning process.

The MC Wellness program offers online classes and in-person classes for aqua fitness, cardio and strength circuits, desk stretching, nutrition consultations, pickleball, yoga, Zumba, and more.
All classes are complimentary for Montgomery College employees, their spouses, and retirees.
MC employees and retirees are required to register before they can participate in the FY24 wellness program.
