Last Chance to Submit Suggested Edits to Job ProfilesHaving complete and current job profiles is a critical component of the classification and compensation study. This ensures that we are able to collect accurate, relevant data related to the various jobs throughout the College.
On April 29, 2024, HRSTM sent an email to managers/supervisors for whom we had not received anysuggested edits to job profiles. We appreciate all who responded; thank you! We also want to remind those who have not yet responded that the deadline and last chance to submit suggested edits are Friday, May 10.
If we do not receive a response from a manager/supervisor by the deadline, we will assume that no edits are needed. Any suggested edits received after May 10, 2024, will not be considered for benchmarking as a part of the current study. However, all suggested edits will be reviewed and applied to job profiles upon completion of the study.
We appreciate your support and engagement in this work!

MCTV: #YouBelongHere at Montgomery CollegeMaria Clark, Student Life Specialist at the Germantown Campus’s Office of Student Life, is the MCTV #YouBelongHere professional spotlighted in this week’s issue of Employee Matters. Like her Student Life Specialist cohorts, Val Melgosa at the Rockville Campus and Mia Price at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus, Maria oversees the activities of student clubs that assist students in achieving academic success and the enhancement of their personal and educational development.
College can sometimes feel overwhelming, but being a part of a student club can provide a sense of belonging by allowing students to meet like-minded people, pursue various interests, build long-lasting connections with mentors and peers, and develop a strong skill set that can help them in their post-college careers.
It’s staff such as Maria Clark, Val Melgosa, and Mia Price in their work as student life specialists who personify the mission of Montgomery College as they help students “discover their passions and unlock their potential to transform lives, enrich the community, and change the world.”

Planning Ahead for Student Worker Extensions and Separations
As we near the end of the spring semester, it’s time for managers and supervisors to plan for their student workers’ extensions and separations for the summer and fall semesters in Workday.
For Federal Work Study (FWS) students, please wait for a continuation notice from Financial Aid before making any changes.
To Extend Employment: Ensure that student workers are registered for six (6) credits for the fall semester (12, if an international student). Extend their employment until Friday, December 20.
To Separate Employment: Remember, if you don’t extend the student worker’s employment before the assignment end date, their employment will automatically separate on the end date.
