New Security Protocol for Direct Deposit Updates Effective Saturday, August 31, 2024, Montgomery College employees must be on campus or connected to the College’s network via VPN to add or change direct deposit accounts in Workday. This new requirement is designed to enhance the security of your financial information.
While changes will be processed immediately, once verified by Payroll, they may take up to one (1) pay period to take effect. If you access Workday from an external network, you can view your bank information, but cannot make modifications. For complete details, please read the original memo.
Remember to be vigilant about phishing attempts and report any suspicious emails using the "Report Phishing" button in Outlook. For assistance, please contact Payroll Services.

Important Reminder: Overtime Policy for Non-Exempt EmployeesTo ensure clarity and compliance with our overtime policy, we want to remind everyone of the guidelines regarding non-exempt (hourly) Montgomery College employees:
For Supervisors: Any time a non-exempt employee works more than 40 hours in a work week, they must be compensated for that overtime. The rate of pay for overtime is one and one-half times (1.5x) the employee’s regular hourly rate. Please ensure all overtime is accurately documented and processed. For more information, please refer to P&P 35001CP.
For Employees: Please remember that working overtime without prior approval from your supervisor is not permitted. If you anticipate needing to work extra hours, make sure to obtain approval from your supervisor in advance. This helps manage workloads effectively and ensures compliance with our overtime policy. For more information, please review the full policy in P&P 35001CP.

Safeguard Your Personal Information: Easy Steps to Freeze Your CreditWith data breaches of business entities across industries continuing to be a common occurrence, HR encourages proactive measures to protect your personal information.
It is strongly recommended that everyone consider freezing their personal credit reports with the three major credit reporting agencies to protect against potential identity theft.
Freezing your credit is a proactive step that can prevent unauthorized access to your credit files, making it more difficult for identity thieves to open accounts in your name.
