Digital Fundamentals for Teaching and Learning (DFTL) Course Stipend Starting September 1, 2024, qualified part-time faculty who register for and complete the College’s mandatory Digital Fundamentals for Teaching and Learning (DFTL) course will be eligible for a one-time payment.

Period Activity Pay Reminders for Fall 2024 As a reminder, Period Activity Pay (PAP) is how all part-time faculty (PTF) are paid in Workday and must be entered by administrative aides (AAs) based on the timelines set by HRSTM to ensure timely payment. Please note the following PAP dates for the upcoming fall semester.
Fall Pay for Part-Time Faculty The number of payments will vary based on when the classes occur (i.e., the specific part of the term). The majority of fall classes are in Part of Term 1, which will be paid over nine (9) pay dates.
The first pay date for the fall semester for PTF working Part of Term 1 will be Friday, September 20, 2024 and the ninth and final pay will be on Friday, January 10, 2025. AAs were contacted directly with specific details.

MC Library Information Literacy Week 2024: September 23–27Registration is now open for Montgomery College Library’s first annual Information Literacy Week taking place this September 23–27. Information Literacy Week aims to promote awareness and understanding of information and media literacy, plagiarism and academic integrity, original work production, and recognizing internal and external bias.
In advance of the 2024 elections, this year’s theme is “Discover, Discern, Decide.” Events are led by MC faculty, staff, librarians, and a guest speaker. They are open to MC students, faculty, and staff, though some events are tailored to a specific audience group. Some highlights include:

Mental Health First Aid Certification Training
Friday, October 4

This hybrid training, offered by the Mental Health Council, will equip you to reduce mental health stigma and better support your students and coworkers. Complete two (2) hours of preparatory videos, followed by six (6) hours of in-person training to earn certification. Additional sessions are available on Friday, November 1 and December 6. Emergency Evacuation Accommodation It is important for all employees to have an emergency evacuation plan in place in the event of an emergency. Those who may need assistance during an evacuation due to a disability should consider identifying themselves to employers and building managers to aid in the planning process.

The MC Wellness program offers online classes and in-person classes for aqua fitness, cardio and strength circuits, desk stretching, Monday meditation, nutrition consultations, pickleball, yoga, Zumba, and more.
All classes are complimentary for Montgomery College employees, their spouses, and retirees.
MC employees and retirees are required to register before they can participate in the FY25 wellness program.
