MC Library Information Literacy Week 2024: September 23-27Montgomery College Library’s first annual Information Literacy Week is set for September 23–27. This week aims to promote awareness and understanding of information and media literacy, plagiarism and academic integrity, and recognizing bias.
The theme for 2024 is “Discover, Discern, Decide,” in light of the upcoming elections. Events will be led by MC faculty, staff, librarians, and a guest speaker. They are open to MC students, faculty, and staff. Some events are tailored to specific groups. Highlights include:

Mental Health First Aid Certification Training Friday, October 4 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at CT S108 Gallery This hybrid training, offered by the Mental Health Council, will help you reduce mental health stigma and support your students and coworkers. Complete two (2) hours of preparatory videos, followed by six (6) hours of in-person training to earn certification. Additional sessions are available on Friday, November 1 and December 6. Emergency Evacuation Accommodation In the event of an emergency, all employees should have an emergency evacuation plan. Those needing assistance during an evacuation due to a disability should inform their employers and building managers to aid in the planning process.

The MC Wellness program offers online and in-person classes, including, aqua fitness, cardio and strength circuits, desk stretching, Monday meditation, nutrition consultations, pickleball, yoga, Zumba, and more.
All classes are free for Montgomery College employees, their spouses, and retirees.
Employees and retirees must register to participate in the FY25 wellness program.
