Accommodating Students with DisabilitiesAs we begin the spring semester, it’s important to reaffirm our commitment to providing equal access to educational opportunities for students with disabilities. Montgomery College adheres to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), ensuring that all students have equal opportunities to participate in our programs.
Faculty, administrators, and staff must provide approved accommodations to students with disabilities as outlined in their accommodation letters from Disability Support Services (DSS). These accommodations, including academic adjustments and auxiliary aids, are not optional. Failing to provide them may violate ADA and Section 504 regulations.
Questions regarding the College’s disability discrimination grievance process should be directed to the Director of ADA Compliance, Kristen Roe, 240-567-4279.

FY25 EAP and PDAP Updates
We’re excited to announce improvements to the Educational Assistance Program (EAP) and Professional Development Assistance Program (PDAP) process, effective January 2025.
Key changes effective immediately:
- Streamlined One-Step Process: Direct payments and non-travel reimbursements will be simplified to a one-step process, using Supplier Invoice Requests and Expense Reports. Eligible EAP/PDAP travel will still require pre-approval via Spend Authorization and an Expense Report (existing 2-step process).
- Annual Acknowledgement Form: Employees will now submit an annual acknowledgement form once per fiscal year, instead of for each individual request. Acknowledgement forms will also be required to cover wellness expenses due to tax implications. Existing forms submitted since July 1, 2024, will cover all requests through June 30, 2025.
Updated job aids for these new processes are on the EAP/PDAP webpage. Demo videos are still in production and will be available in February. As a reminder, tuition benefits above $5,250 and wellness reimbursements have tax implications each calendar year. Targeted emails will be sent to affected employees.
